Because that's more than twice the one seat, Kentucky law (KRS 83A.170) required a nonpartisan primary on May 19. ✅ Toshie Murrell (862) and Terry Owens (857) advanced; the mayor is decided between them at the November 3 general election. Douglas Goodman and Michelle Mitchell did not advance.
